In any case, your feet are vital to your health and your mobility, thus nursing foot care is our sole focus—and how we approach caring for our clients. Our specialized foot care nurses are trained to look after the foot health of every client, including those that are considered high risk for foot complications due to diabetes, kidney disease, alterations in sensation and circulation problems.
 
To aid in the aforementioned, our staff is comprised of specialty nurses—registered nurses and registered practical nurses who has received specialized training in providing foot care.  
 
ElderHealth Resources’ Chief Nursing Specialist, Julia Atkinson, is a registered nurse with more than 13 years of experience as a foot-care nurse and educator.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Ottawa, and has further continued her education in nursing foot care at Algonquin College.  She certified by the Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board of the United States of America.
